Is your air compressor noisy?

All compressors do make some noise and often you need to wear ear defenders if you are working closely to one or for long periods of time. But is your compressor too noisy?

Compressors are used in a huge number of different manufacturing processes and often are very important to a business in ensuring they can create the products needed to sell but the noise from them can be disruptive and could even cause hearing loss overtime.

Although you cannot completely stop the noise there are things you can do to reduce it. Firstly try and build something around the compressors to help absorb the sound. Using a porous foam is a great way to help absorb some of the sound and recue the noise.

Place the compressor on a mat that is made of rubber or even cork will help reduce the vibrations. A lot of noise is caused by the vibrations so by reducing this you reduce the noise level sometimes substantially.

If you are unsure on how to reduce the noise level or not sure if the noise level is too much then you may want to call in the experts who will be able to give you steps to take to help reduce it.
