Reducing the noise from compressors

Compressors can be a major component in many factories. They are used for a large number of processes but the downside is they can be very loud. This can not only make it a hard environment to work in but could actually cause damage to your ears if you are exposed to the noise levels on a regular basis. There are a number of ways in which you can try and reduce the noise pollution from a compressor. The first one is to Install the air compressor in a separate room away from the workspace. Ideally have the compressor located in another room to where people are working. Make sure that the room also has doors that can be shut. If this is not possible or if you want to reduce the noise level even more then build a sound proof box around the compressor to try and dull the sound. When doing this, be sure to think about fire safety and make sure that you use the right materials to do it. Workers that work in or near compressors should be given ear plugs to wear or ear defenders to allow the to try and minimise the exposure they have to the noise level.
